I think it’s important for parents to review the research as to what attracts our youth to participate and get involved in gangs. The exposure and at what age the youth begin to hear and become familiar with gangs in our community and schools.

While this research was done in Ch’ville and Albemarle, the principles apply here when it comes to gangs. There are no jurisdictional boundaries for gangs. The latest federal court case is just one local example. —Chief Roberts
